While herbicides are an important tool in controlling unwanted weeds, no application is 100% effective. Weather, soil conditions, and weed growth stages can all influence results. For best outcomes, prevention is key—preemergence applications are the most effective way to stop many weeds before they germinate, reducing the need for repeated treatments and keeping your lawn healthier year-round.

3- Step Basics
Includes: 2x preemergents & 1x postemergents delivered in 3 blanket applications for good weed control
Our 3-Step Basic Weed Control Plan is only included within our Essentials Plan so as to appropriately prioritize soil health and turf nourishment over chemical application.
The plan starts with dual early and late spring preemergent applications to stop crabgrass and other annual weeds before they sprout. Mid-season, we follow up with a postemergent treatment—extending your weed to tackle any broadleaf weeds that have emerged.
Additional Specialty Treatments
Although the plan above is not exhaustive and will allow some breakthrough, we can put down additional spot treatments to target specialty and mature weeds when needed. These treatments can:
Target matured weeds that pre-emergents may miss
Expand pre-emergent coverage (if you’re neighbors are overrun with dandelions or the like)
Target difficult sedges and other grassy-weeds
Help you totally start from scratch!
Disclaimer:
Again, to serve the purpose of being conservative with herbicides, most specialty applications are spot treatments, not blanket treatments.
Grassy weeds (especially warm season turf species) are notoriously difficult to remove and may take multiple applications.
